Who are We
South Dakota Strong was formed in early 2022 by three local women who wanted to have a positive influence in our community in regards to politics. South Dakota Strong is based on the core values that are in line with republican beliefs of strong schools that give parents a voice, funding for law enforcement, right to life for all, building healthy communities, traditional family values, and promoting economic growth and development.
Strong Schools
Strong schools build strong communities. By ensuring school funding is well spent and focused on improving students academic scores, graduation rates and post secondary enrollment, we can create successful career paths for young adults entering our workforce. Encouraging parent and community involvement is essential to improve student outcomes and aid in teachers workload.
Support our Law Enforcement/Healthy Community
A strong police presence has been proven to be especially effective in deterring crime and helps maintain public order. As crime, illegal drugs and gang activity is on the rise across the nation, it is critical our local police and sheriff departments have the financial and community support they need to keep us safe.
Right to Life for All
Health communities begin with respecting life. We seek to recognize and promote legislators who support the unborn child’s rights to live and educate the public on the issues of abortion, infanticicde and euthanasia.
Traditional Family Values
Families provide the bedrock foundation capable of developing a future generation with stronger moral values, strong character, higher success rate in school, stronger work ethic and reduction in crime, drug use and gang related activities.
Economic Growth/Development
Growth matters for both fiscal stabilization and raising the standard of living for those within a community. Growth in the size of the workforce and fostering new business opportunities are critical for a thriving community. We support elected officials who work to provide an opportunity for continued economic growth for long term sustainability for the West River community and the state of South Dakota.
Changes for 2023
South Dakota Strong is excited to announce we are growing our efforts to provide ongoing forums of communication between our South Dakota Citizens and the elected leadership representing them. We believe this type of education and interaction will strengthen the conservative cause and help to move the Republican messaging in a positive direction. We are excited to announce Republicans for SD Strong WR – Political Action Committee, has been formed to enable us to achieve our goals.
Funds raised through this PAC will be used to:
Expand our “Leaders Up Close” series, social mixers, and special gatherings Increase efforts to educate the population on critical issues facing our communitiesProvide forums intended to connect our elected officials with those who they represent to improve dialog, provide healthy conversations and build trust️Promote/support like minded city, county and state candidates who represent our values
